Easter is a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the hope, joy, and new life we have in Christ. Whether you’re building meaningful family traditions or looking for thoughtful gifts, choosing resources that point hearts back to Jesus can make this season even more impactful. From Bibles and devotionals to simple, faith-filled gifts, here are some intentional Easter ideas for Christian families.

Easter Favorites for Younger Kids (Toddler/Preschool)

Holy Week Easter Board Book: We have a book from this series on Psalm 23 and I love it! This one is all about Holy Week, but also incorporates practical teaching on emotions for littles.

Resurrection Eggs Puzzle: I’ve done resurrection eggs with our kids, but this puzzle was a sweet alternative!

Jesus Rose for Me: The True Story of Easter Board Book: This book was recommended to me and I love having more great board books for littles for Easter.

Easter Favorites for Older Kids

The Garden, The Curtain, And The Cross Book: This is my favorite Easter book for kids because of the way the gospel is explained. You could read it with your preschooler, but it’s a little wordier than other Easter Board books.

30 day Easter Family Devotional: I haven’t quite found a resource like this one for older kids and families. Even if you’re getting a late start, you could start working through this devotional and revisit it again next year! I love the conversational tone of this devotional. Great for sparking conversations around the dinner table!

The Donkey Who Carried A King Book: Another book for elementary-aged kids that I have.

Darkest Night, Brightest Day Family Easter Devotional: This devotional is beautiful and I love the concept of the design for the front and back cover.

Other Easter Basket Ideas To Point Kids To Jesus

Family Discussion Cards (Ages 3+): These cards are meant to teach kids about the character of God. They’re great for short teaching times in the car, around the table, or before bedtime!

Picture Bible Storybook (Ages 4-8): Someone just told me about this book of Bible stories by N.T. Wright and now I’m interested. I loved his book on heaven, and have enjoyed hearing him speak about different topics.

The Dragon Slayer Slayer and His Special Supersuit (Ages 4-7): Kyle Worley works closely with Jen Wilkin and I’ve loved listening to them together on their podcast. He wrote this children’s book and it’s all about the gospel and the armor of God.

CSB Explorer Bible (Ages 6-12): A new Bible is a great idea for an Easter basket! This one has been on my radar for awhile.

Bible Study Journal (Ages 9+): This journal is built to teach kids how to engage with scripture and has foundational Christian principles scattered throughout.

Just For Fun

Fun and random things for Easter baskets (and beyond!)

Cozy Blankets: We got each of our kids one of these in a different color and they love them! Cozy, tons of closers, and a great price.

Cross Bracelets: Would make a cute egg filler or to stick in an Easter basket.

Rainbow Colored Pencils: I have an artistic kiddo who will love these! These glitter markers would be great, too.

Girls Cross Body Bag: This bag is so cute! Would be great for tweens/teens, but I know even my 7 year old would love it. I also love this alternative style.

The Best Fair Trade Chocolate: We just discovered this brand and it’s the best! My favorite is the Caramel and Sea Salt. This multi-pack has minis that would be great for Easter.
