Best Books To Gift (For All Ages)

I think books are the best gift to give to someone. Giving books as gifts for special events is always one of my favorite things to do. Whether it’s a baby shower, birthday, Christmas, books make fantastic gifts for those we love. Not matter the personality of the person you’re buying for, odds are, you can find the perfect book that will inspire, encourage, educate and/or challenge them.

Here are my best books to gift for all ages this year:

I have a whole article on Christian books for kids, so make sure you check that out for more ideas!

For Older Kids

Thanks to my friend Tiffany for helping me add to this section for older kids! Here are some ideas for the best books to gift your older kiddos:

1. Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy (Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Biography): Truly I want to read this myself! If you haven’t heard of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, he was a pastor who risked his life and stayed in Germany during WWII to start a seminary. He was also involved in a plot to overthrow Hitler and the Nazi regime.

2. A Burning in My Bones (Eugene Peterson’s Biography): I had a friend recommend this to me. Eugene Peterson wrote “The Message” translation of the Bible.

3. New Morning Mercies for Teens: A Daily Gospel Devotional by Paul David Tripp: I have the adult version of this devotional and just learned there’s a teen version!

Bibles for Kids

1. Jesus Storybook Bible: I always get so much out of the stories, too!

2. Bible Stories Every Child Should Know: I love the discussion questions for younger kids in this one.

4. The Action Bible: Our current favorite for Elementary kiddos! This new version has QR codes with extra resources.

1. CSB Journaling Study Bible: This pink one would be perfect for women or girls!

2. ESV Study Bible: This is the Bible I’ve been using and I love the commentary in it!

1. New Morning Mercies: This is a classic and one I enjoy.
